Luminous Lagoon Glistening Waters Tour From Ocho Rios Resorts
Commencing at sundown, we begin nighttime boat tours of the popular Luminous Lagoon. You will notice things that could make you appreciate the magnificence Mother Nature has established for us to experience and encounter! Absolutely, a picture to be seen! Set up your tour with us at dusk; you may choose to dine at the on-site restaurant first, and then take a boat trip out onto the lagoon. Because the boat cruises around, the water is disrupted, and then the organisms begin to glow, giving off a luminous light.
You will observe a spooky illumination show lighting from the back side of the boat and all around from the wake. This part of the tour of the Luminous Lagoon takes approximately 35-40 minutes.
The following lagoon, surrounded by mangroves, is home to microscopic organisms that discharge a phosphorescent light when agitated.
The water glows with an attractive azure glow and gets illuminated when these organisms are disturbed. Because the fish in the lagoon swim and dart around, you can see their shapes as lines of light, shooting around in the night. Because it rains, the lagoon 'lights up' with the droplets of water bouncing on the surface. Absolutely an awesome encounter!
